A man was subdued aboard an American Airlines flight to Honolulu after he tried to break into the cockpit on Friday.
Passengers, American Airlines crew members and an off-duty Honolulu police officer worked together to restrain him.
According to sources, the man, from Turkey, breached security at Los Angeles International Airport through drunken behavior, but was assessed and allowed to board AA Flight 31.
The flight landed safely about 11:35am, escorted by two military fighter jets, and the man was detained.
